Hobart was founded on July 20, 1897 in Troy, Ohio. In 1903, merchants who bought Hobart motors worked with Hobart representatives to create the first powered, self-contained coffee mills in the world. Soon after, Hobart introduced electric meat choppers to their product line as well as a commercial mixer. 1959 brought the hands-free convenience of Hobart Automatic Slicers to convenience stores and restaurants.
